So The School Year Begins

Sorry I don't blog more often. I am hoping to get better at it, but here's an update on whats going on in our lives. I feel like a chicken with her head cut off. I mostly play taxi and love it because I get to be involved in all of my children's activities. JJ started school on Tuesday. He is in a P1 class. It's in between 1st and 2nd grade and designed to help kids who struggle. In his case he can read and write but cannot bisect words and sentences well. He is having a great experience this year and has scored the highest on all of his tests so far. Jaedon started soccer this week. JJ will start next week. Jaedon had a lot of fun. He is the youngest player on his team and doesn't have the skills or con troll the other players have but he is also the fastest. He can outrun all the other players and two coaches. He also really good at getting the ball away from other players. I think he would make a good goalie but we will see as the season progresses how things go. Kaylee is all girl. She still likes everything girlie. Her big things lately are Tinker Bell and Princesses, her favorite being Tinker Bell. Jaedon is still at home this year. We are hoping he can start preschool in January. He is having major problems with anxiety attacks when ever he participates in activities away from Mommy or Daddy. We do go to story time every week at the local library and have play dates a lot. Jeremy is doing well. He has really found a love for being outside and getting involved with youth activities. This weekend he plans on helping with a 10 mile bike ride and continuing to help condition the young men for a 50 mile ride coming up.

Family Day

Recently we went to Harper's Ferry as a family day. We really love it up there. This day was hot so we decided to walk by the river and skip rocks. Kaylee insisted on carrying the back pack with 19 bottles of water and a snack in it. She fell down a lot. It was really cute because she wouldn't let any one help and when we headed for home she said "I did it". Daddy taught the boys how to skip rock and even Kaylee tried. JJ is really fascinated by the turtles and the wildlife roaming around. Jaedon is too smart for his own good. He kept giving us narratives on everything we passed. You know you've gone there a lot when your four year old can tell you about the cotton mills and which foundation belonged to who. Jeremy and I enjoyed it so much we've decided to go back without the kids and have a picnic for a date this week. I love Harper's Ferry.

Fun at the Pool

We have a deal with the kids if they go to bed good all week they get to stay up late on Friday night. My favorite Friday night activity is swimming from 7-10. We haven't made it to 10pm but we have a lot of fun. This week Kaylee pushed Jaedon around in HER flotie. JJ played Volleyball and then learned how to put his head under water.

Expedition Fixed

Car finally fixed! Sunday while having dinner at Jeremy's parents lightening struck the tree in front of their house unfortunately our car was parked next to the tree. Lightening apparently jumped from the tree to our car. The car behind us (sorry Sarah) took a lot more physical damage but unfortunately when we tried to go home our car was shut down in theft lock. It thought we were stealing it. got that fixed only to find the computer was fried and had to be replaced. Once that was replaced we found the steering column and the transmitter that recognizes the key was also shot. Now its finally done and all the parts are in! it feels like a new car YAY!

New Truck

I know this is a forward but I laughed so hard I wanted to share.

A sixteen year-old boy came home with a new Chevrolet Avalanche and his parents began to yell and scream, 'Where did you get that truck???!!!' He calmly told them, 'I bought it today.' 'With what money?' demanded his parents. They knew what a Chevrolet Avalanche cost.

'Well,' said the boy, 'this one cost me just fifteen dollars. ' So the parents began to yell even louder. 'Who would sell a truck like that for fifteen dollars?' they said.

'It was the lady up the street,' said the boy. I don't know her name - they just moved in. She saw me ride past on my bike and asked me if I wanted to buy a Chevrolet Avalanche for fifteen dollars.'

'Oh my Goodness!,' moaned the mother, 'she must be a child abuser. Who knows what she will do next? John, you go right up there and see what's going on.' So the boy's father walked up the street to the house where the lady lived and found her out in the yard calmly planting petunias!

He introduced himself as the father of the boy to whom she had sold a new Chevrolet Avalanche for fifteen dollars and demanded to know why she did it.

'Well,' she said, 'this morning I got a phone call from my husband. (I thought he was on a business trip, but learned from a friend he had run off to Hawaii with his mistress and really doesn't intend to come back).

He claimed he was stranded and needed cash, and asked me to sell his new Chevrolet Avalanche and send him the money.

So I did.'
